How it works

Four steps from your game to a complete setup.

  1. 01

    Answer the assessment

One question per screen: age and height, level, strokes, goal, surface, movement, injuries, foot shape, climate, apparel fit, current gear and budget. Around three minutes.

  2. 02

    Get your Player DNA

Six attributes — Power, Control, Spin, Speed, Defence and Net Play — are calculated from your answers, then turned into a profile title and a visual signature.

  3. 03

    See your style resemblance

Your DNA is compared with editorial models of recognisable tour styles: closest overall, attacking pattern and movement pattern. Resemblance only, never identity.

  4. 04

    Reveal Your Loadout

One coordinated setup where every item is chosen to work with the others: racket and grip size, string and tension range, surface-matched shoes, match kit, training kit, bag, overgrip and accessories.

Three things worth understanding before you buy anything

25, 26 or 27 inch: junior racket sizing

Length is chosen by height, strength and technique, not by age alone or by a favourite player. As a rough guide, 25 inch suits roughly 125–135 cm, 26 inch roughly 135–150 cm, and a full-length 27 inch frame once a player is around 150 cm and strong enough to swing it under control without the arm dropping late in a session. A 26-inch frame in the hands of a physically ready competitive player costs reach, stability and plow-through. Confirm any change with a coach or parent, and demo before buying.

Choosing shoes by court surface

Hard-court outsoles use dense rubber and a wider contact patch for abrasion and lateral support. Clay outsoles use a full herringbone so the shoe releases and slides predictably and sheds the surface. All-court is a compromise that is fine if you split time between surfaces. Fit matters as much as tread: a narrow last on a wide foot causes toe and forefoot problems long before the outsole wears out, so get fitted in person late in the day.

Why string and tension must suit the arm and the frame

The string bed does more to change feel and comfort than most racket swaps. Stiff full polyester in a light frame, in a young arm, or in cold weather transmits far more shock; a multifilament or a soft co-poly at the lower end of the maker's printed range is usually the kinder starting point. Stay inside the tension range printed on the frame, change one variable at a time, and remember that dead strings — not the racket — are the most common reason a setup suddenly feels wrong.

General guidance, not medical or coaching advice. Pain, injury and junior transitions should be discussed with a qualified coach, stringer or clinician, and every frame is worth demoing before you buy.

Straight answers

Is the beta free, and where is my profile stored?
Yes. Build and Analyse are currently Free beta and require no account. Your player profile is saved locally on this device so both tools can reuse it; it is not stored on our servers, and sensitive health and measurement details are removed from shared links.
Are the products and prices real?
The catalogue uses named products and published specifications with a source link on every item. A price appears only when verified from that linked page and carries a check date; otherwise we show ‘No verified live price.’ We do not claim stock.
Do you know what professionals actually use?
We model public playing patterns, not private equipment data. Endorsed retail frames sold in shops can be very different from the customised pro-stock frames professionals compete with, and every pro note makes that distinction.
Will you tell me to replace gear that is fine?
No. Analyse My Gear frequently comes back with 'keep this' and 'test first'. The most common honest answer is fresh strings, not a new racket.
Is a demo still worth it?
Always. A recommendation narrows the shortlist; your hand, arm and footwork decide. Demo two or three frames on the same day with the same string, and get shoes fitted in person.

Source and fit note. Product facts link to their cited sources. Prices are not live; dated prices may change, and no stock is claimed. Style resemblance is editorial, not identity. Endorsed retail frames can differ substantially from professionals' customised match equipment. Demo rackets and get fitted in person wherever possible.
